Take Someone Fishing 

When we have an opportunity to take someone fishing we need to do it. Why?  Because one day we may need someone to take us. You see there is a cause and effect in this universe. Whatever we focus our attention on we draw to us. If you focus your attention on good things that is what you will experience if you focus on bad that is what it will attract. We can make our future as bright as the sun or as dark as the rain. Why do I say this? Because it is in the bible.

Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

When we are fishing is a great time to focus our thoughts on the good things. Even if the fish are not biting. What a joy and privilege to be out on the water. Seeing what God has created. We are the stewards of God’s great earth. What have you done today to take better care of the planet? Next time you are fishing pick up the trash around the boat dock. Help someone launch his or her boat and accept only a smile in payment for a good deed.  We can pass on the blessings that we receive by simply expressing God wherever we are. Let someone merge in traffic, pay someone’s lunch, give back to the universe because God has given you so much. Support Mahogany Youth and make a donation to provide a fishing rod for a needy child.

Remember the memories and the things that we do for others will be all that remain once we are gone. We cannot take the wealth with us or really control what happens to it once we are gone. So give someone part of their inheritance now while you can see them enjoy it. Give some one a rose while you both can still smell the flowers. And remember to take someone fishing and see their smile on the water. Tight lines.
